Woodburn High loses small school funding

Woodburn High School’s experiment in Small Schools, as described in Boys, has reached a turning point. The switch from comprehensive high school to four themed high schools, each with under 400 students, began in the 2005-2006 school year, using funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. With the end of the 2009-2010 school year, the high school has also reached the end of its grant money. Starting next year, the small school experiment carries on without any extra funding.
